For most of this year, Mike Cameron has been dealing with an abdominal issue that has forced him to sit more than normal and has limited his range in the outfield. The injury finally became too much to deal with Monday and has been progressing in the wrong direction, so Cameron was placed on the DL before Monday night’s game against the Cleveland Indians. Daniel Nava got the call to take Cameron’s roster and lineup spot for the time being. Presumably Jacoby Ellsbury will be returning within the next week or so, which will likely send Nava back to Pawtucket. In 29 games with the Sox earlier this year, Nava hit .286 with 1 home run (1st pitch grand salami) and 16 rbi.
