Sox Try to Snap 5-Game Losing Streak Against Baltimore

After starting this Spring at an 8-3 record, the Sox have fallen to .500 after a tough 5-game losing streak. On the mound today for the Sox is  probable 5th starter Tim Wakefield, who has a 1-1 record this Spring in 3 starts. Wake has compiled 8.2 innings, giving up 12 hits and 5 ER’s, striking out 2. Wake will be supported by 8 of the 9 likely opening day offensive starters.

The Sox welcome back Jacoby Ellsbury today, after he spent this past week recovering from an illness. He will be taking the center field spot, with Mike Cameron having the day off and utility man Bill Hall will start in left field. David Ortiz will look to continue his hot streak against RHP Chris Tillman. In yesterday’s game, Ortiz got the Sox on the board in the first inning by hitting a 2-run bomb.
