Thanks for the comment Geek! Chicago has an excellent staff, but I wouldn't necessarily put them ahead of the Sox or Yankees. The 3rd, 4th and 5th starters have career ERAs above 4 (Gavin Floyd's above 4.6), and their 5th starter, Freddy Garcia, has started a combined 23 games over the past 3 seasons.

Ultimately, I feel Chicago, Boston and New York can each be the best in the league, but it is splitting hairs at this point to differentiate between them. I do feel Chicago's staff is getting overlooked a bit. Only time will really show which staff is the best. Thanks for bringing the Chicago love!

Chicago has a superb pitching staff. I would rank the Yankees second and Red Sox third considering the talent today and the arms. The loss of Matsui and Damon would be a big problem if the Yankee pitching had not been improved. The 51 come from behind wins was a result of giving up runs as much as getting them back. The Yankee offense is potent and I give it an edge over the Red Sox. An analysis on paper is always tricky and watching all play ball cannot start soon enough.
