On a rain soaked night at Fenway Park, last night the Boston Red Sox needed something special. They needed someone or something to happen in the game, to get the jump on the Toronto Blue Jays. And did they ever get that something special they needed, but it wasn’t from who everyone expected it to come from. Most of the faithful crowd who witnessed the Sox win, despite cruddy rain soaked weather conditions. Thought it would come from their ace Josh Beckett, but unfortunately for them on this night, Beckett was no where near his usual self.
It came from Jason Varitek and [...]

Congratulations to Dustin Pedroia and Jonathan Papelbon! As they were both selected by YOU, the fans to be the BoSox Injection’s Boston Red Sox Players of the Month, for July 2009. They both easily ran away with this contest, the moment the voting started. After that they just put it into cruise control, for the rest of the contest and coasted their way to a cake walk victory.
Previous Winners:
April – (P) Tim Wakefield & (H) Jason Bay
May – (P) Josh Beckett & (H) Jacoby Ellsbury
June – (P) Jon Lester & (H) David Ortiz
Pedroia and Papelbon will now join the past month’s [...]
What’s a manager to do? That’s the question which was on the mind of manager Terry Francona. As the Chicago White Sox were hammering the Boston Red Sox 9-0, last night. With Francona needing to save his bullpen for this weekend’s series verse the Toronto Blue Jays. He needed to do something, and do it fast. So he decided he was going green by way of Nick Green!
That’s right folks, the Sox went old school! In a very shocking move which had most of the Fenway Faithful confused. Francona made the call to the veteran shortstop, with hopes he could [...]
At first glance I thought the signing of John Smoltz, by the Boston Red Sox was a great idea. GOOD RIDENCE AND SEE YA LATER! That’s what I’m saying now! I honestly thought Smoltz was going to be a great fit a Boston uniform. As he was the jack of all trades in terms of pitching as he’s been both a starter and a closer. I mean the man has 212 career wins as a starter, plus a 154 saves as a closer. So either way the Sox used him he was going to be reliable and well worth it.
Smoltz who was [...]
**Let’s Go New England Fans! The voting for this month’s expires at midnight on Friday the 21st, which is tomorrow. So you better hurry up and run, jump, skip and or hop on over and vote, before it’s too late.**
With the fourth full month of action officially in the record books for MLB, it’s that time once again. It’s time for you the fans to vote and crown this month’s BoSox Injection’s Boston Red Sox Players Of The Month for July! I have to say that it was an extremely difficult choice about having to leave the newly acquired Victor Martinez, off [...]
After enjoying their first day off in two weeks, the Boston Red Sox are back in action. As this evening the Red Sox open up a three game series with the Toronto Blue Jays, in Canada. Good news for Boston, their ace Josh Beckett (14-4) will be on the mound. Beckett who leads the AL in victories will be opposed by Ricky Romero (10-5). After Beckett, we’ll see Clay Buchholz and Jon Lester gets his crack at the Jays, in the series finale.
Which at first glance is a great thing. Who wouldn’t love seeing those three as a Sox fan? Until you remember [...]
After splitting the first two games of the series in Texas. The Boston Red Sox and Texas Rangers are both desperately seeking a victory in the finale of their series. As both teams are counting on their youth movement to guide them to a victory. Since on the mound for Boston will be the 23 year old youngster, Junichi Tazawa (1-1). While the Rangers counter by sending 28 year old Dustin Nippert, who’s 3-1 on the season.
Today’s game has that “winner takes all” mentality! Since not only does a victory give either team the series victory. More importantly it means they’ll [...]
Over the last two days the Boston Red Sox have had a flurry of activity going on. I thought I’d help out and keep you aware of the latest updates concerning all the roster moves, for the Sox as they have made quite a few moves. First off they started the day on Friday by making a trade with the Cincinnati Reds. As the two teams exchanged shortstops, coming to the Sox was an old friend and a familiar face in Alex Gonzalez.
Gonzalez for those of you who might remember was originally with the club back in 2006. Going from the Sox [...]
Clay Buchholz did his job on the mound for his team. He kept his team in the ballgame the entire seven innings he pitched. Clay’s performance was magical and something very special to watch, I might add. As he was locked in a pitcher’s duel all afternoon with Justin Verlander. But as luck would have for Buchholz, the Boston Red Sox and their heavy hitting lineup gave him absolutely nothing in return. As the Detroit Tigers left Fenway Park winning the finale of the four game series, 2-0.
The victory by the Tigers not only helped them avoid a series sweep to [...]
OMG, HE STOLE A BASE!
OMG, HE STOLE A BASE! I’m not sure I would have believed it if I didn’t witness it with my own two eyes. But it did actually happen! Since it’s something you won’t be seeing everyday, or even every five years from Victor Martinez. But the newest member of the Boston Red Sox did just that this afternoon, verse the Detroit Tigers, in the first inning. Which mean’s it’s only the second time in his eight year MLB career, that he’s ever stolen a base.
I might add that it’s not to shabby for a man who’s only attempted it four times throughout [...]
