Has anyone noticed the numbers that Jason Bay has been putting up on a daily basis? The left-fielder for the Boston Red Sox has been on fire not only this past week, but for the entire season. It seems that just about every night you’re hearing about Bay knocking another pitch deep into the stands for the Sox. I for one need to say what a great move Theo Epstein made in shipping Manny Ramirez and all his baggage out of Boston, and for finding the next great Sox leader in Bay.
Bay’s season totals as of May 9th:
| Current Season Stats | |||||||||||||||||
| G | AB | H | 2B | 3B | HR | RBI | R | BB | K | SB | CS | AVG | OBP | SLG | OPS | ||
| 30 | 99 | 32 | 6 | 1 | 9 | 32 | 27 | 28 | 26 | 4 | 0 | .323 | .477 | .677 | 1.154 | ||
The man is having an unbelievable season to this point, and should be in St. Louis, come early July for this year’s All-Star game. Let’s just hope and pray that it continues, especially with a few of our hitters (Kevin Youkilis and J.D. Drew) banged up and missing in action. Plus those (David Ortiz, Jacoby Ellsbury) who aren’t producing their normal numbers that we’ve come to expect early on this year.
