Over In The Blink Of An Eye!

“All good things must come to an end” everyone knows that ole sane.  Now for the moment so do the Boston Red Sox, as their eleven game winning streak was stopped tonight at Progressive Field, thanks to the Cleveland Indians.  After sweeping the Orioles, Twins, and the Yankees along the way in building their winning streak, it’s all over in the blink of an eye!  As Javier Lopez, was unable to handle a perfect toss from first-baseman Kevin Youkilis off the bat of Asdrubal Cabrera, which allowed the winning run to score.

Tonight the Red Sox, just did not play the type of baseball that’s require to win ballgames, especially one’s that are tied late in the innings.  From the poor fielding on defense, to the lack of starting pitching from Brad Penny, tonight just wasn’t their night.  The Sox defense which is normally stellar committed three BIG errors in the game.  Errors which allowed the Indians extra chances, which they took full advantage of as ultimately won this game due to them.

The Sox will look to get back on track as they play the “rubber” game of the series with the Indians, tomorrow night.  On the mound for the Sox will Jon Lester (1-2) vs Fausto Carmona (1-3) as they wrap up their only visit on the season to Cleveland.  Up next for the Sox on this roadtrip are the Tampa Bay Rays, and then it’s off to visit the Yankees in their new stadium.
