Sox-Angels Pitching Match-Ups:

In just about an hour from now the Boston Red Sox, will open up their first game in a two city, six game trip out on the West coast.  Their first long trip of the season takes them to Anaheim, to face Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim for three games.  And then it’s off to battle the Oakland Athletics to finish this mini road trip, before coming back home to open up a long home stand that has a few divisional rivals coming to town.  Sitting at the bottom of the AL East for the moment with a record of 1-2, the Sox need to right the ship and get things back on track.

Saturday – Brad Penny (0-0) vs Shane Loux on Fox at 4:10 pm

Sunday – Josh Beckett (1-0) vs Joe Saunders (1-0) on NESN at 3:35 pm

Red Sox Keys To Victory:  Score first and often, get back to the basics on offense, play small-ball, work the bunt, be aggressive running the bases, and get creative and keep the Angels on their toes.  Pitching needs to improve from the starters all the way through their bullpen.  Sox manager Terry Francona, needs to watch his starters closely (Penny) and avoid overworking them early in the season.
