What Is Manny Ramirez Thinking These Days?

Will someone please tell me what is Manny Ramirez thinking these days?  The former Boston Red Sox star has again, for the fourth time this off-season turned down a contract offer.  The latest offer was a two year deal worth $45 million, and here’s the icing on the cake, he had an option to get out after the first year.  So let’s see sign with the Los Angeles Dodgers for this season and make $25 million, then walk away at the season’s end if you wish.  He’s happy he’s made his millions and then he’s free to hit the open market again next season.

Sounds like a dream come true for me, but I’m guessing that in Manny’s world it seems like a conspiracy.  You’d think Ramirez would get a clue, the offers aren’t popping out of the woodwork, like he thought they would.  It’s close to the beginning of March and he’s still JOBLESS!  The good thing for Manny, is that he’s all ready made his money and can still afford the luxurious things in life.  Maybe he believes the evil empire that resides in New York will still come knocking on his door.

Sorry Manny, that won’t be happening anytime soon this year.  Not after tying up millions in three key player acquisitions this past free agency period.  The New York Yankees who signed pitchers C.C. Sabathia, A.J. Burnett and slugger Mark Teixeira when they went on a spending spree, should be done.  God, I hope they’re done spending for awhile, since they have a payroll at what over $400 million or something close to that.  But unfortunately with the dark side you just never know.

Well from all of this one thing is perfectly clear, the man who professes he’d love to play this game until he hit 600 or even 700 home runs.  Has shown everyone who’s been paying attention that he’s FULL OF CRAP, and the words that spill from his mouth as worthless and pathetic.  He’s had his chance to sign with anyone and he’s refused to do so,  he doesn’t care about a team or organization, only himself.  That’s been proven time and time again over the years, with what we called in Boston as  “Manny being Manny.”

Maybe the time has come that teams with in MLB will stop playing these childish games with so called superstars who think they’re above everyone and take a stand.  That’s one way to improve the game, maybe commissioner Bud Selig and others can focus on that.  Since according to them, Major League Baseball doesn’t have a drug problem.
