Team USA, hasn’t begun to play or even practice for this year’s upcoming World Baseball Classic. Which is scheduled to begin play next week for all sixteen of it’s participating countries. But the USA squad has been forced to make one roster move, due to an injury. It’s been announced that outfielder Grady Sizemore from the Cleveland Indians who’s dealing with an injured groin has been replaced on the squad by Shane Victorino from the Philadelphia Phillies. Victorino now joins teammate Jimmy Rollins, on the USA squad.

One Roster Move!
Will someone please tell me what is Manny Ramirez thinking these days? The former Boston Red Sox star has again, for the fourth time this off-season turned down a contract offer. The latest offer was a two year deal worth $45 million, and here’s the icing on the cake, he had an option to get out after the first year. So let’s see sign with the Los Angeles Dodgers for this season and make $25 million, then walk away at the season’s end if you wish. He’s happy he’s made his millions and then he’s free to hit the open market [...]

World Baseball Classic!
The final rosters have been announced for each country playing in the upcoming World Baseball Classic, which is due to start on the 5th of March. Seventeen members of the Boston Red Sox will be on display throughout the WBC, playing for a variety of countries. I’ll have the entire breakdown for Team USA, as well as each individual Sox player and the country they’ll be representing soon. Please accept my apologies, due to having surgery this morning I’m physically unable to get that content out to you. I do promise to have them up and ready for everyone on Thursday. Thank you for your [...]
Who in the world doesn’t love a cocky ballplayer? Someone who’s not afraid or worried about basically saying what’s on their mind. The type of player that will speak their mind, and then go and do what they get paid big bucks for. Which is to play hard, consistent and no holds barred. Of course it’s always easier to enjoy them and cheer for when they play for your favorite club. In Boston that man is none other than Dustin Pedroia.
Or better known as “The Little Horse” by his teammates on the Boston Red Sox. And the feisty 5′7 guy who’s not the typical [...]
Retiring Good Old #14!
I just wanted to take a moment and congratulate one of the greatest players that I’ve ever seen play in a Boston Red Sox uniform. Who is it? It’s none other than Jim Rice. And I have to say it’s about time that the club and Major League Baseball is recognizing him. It was just announced a few weeks back than Rice has been elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Which in my eyes has been long overdue. The Hall of Fame ceremony will take place in Cooperstown, N.Y. on the weekend of July 26th this year. And to top that [...]
As the Boston Red Sox get into the flow of things with spring training. The players right now are just taking the time to get reacquainted with one another. Getting to know the new names and faces that comes with each new season. Their also getting ready to answer some important questions about this years club.
Here’s just a few of them listed below:
Who’s going to be the opening day shortstop?
The teams fifth starter opening the season will be?
Will the World Baseball Classic (WBC) affect the Sox players participating in it?
Can the club win it all without Manny Ramirez?
First off in regards [...]
New Boston Red Sox Site!
Welcome to the new Boston Red Sox site at FanSided.com. For those of you who may not know me, my name is Matt DeLucia and I grew up a die-hard fan of all the Boston sports teams. Which isn’t that hard to do when your raised in Massachusetts and surrounded by some of the greatest teams in history.
I also just happen to be the lead writter over at MusketFire. Which is the home of the New England Patriots on the FanSided Network. So it looks like I’ll be pulling double duty so to speak in running both sites. But I promise to do [...]
